Acupuncturists use thin metal needles in various lengths and gauges to stimulate certain points on the body by piercing the skin surface. They are often employed by physicians or physician assistants for pain management for patients with chronic pain or post-operative rehabilitation or as an alternative treatment for people who do not want to take medications or undergo surgery.

 

A qualified acupuncturist in India should have a bachelor’s degree in medicine and at least three years of experience as an assistant to a qualified acupuncturist.

The scope of acupuncture practice is vast, but it usually includes pain relief, fertility treatments, and weight loss. There are many different types of acupuncture treatments including: auricular therapy, electro-acupuncture, ear acupuncture
