Obstetricians are doctors who care for pregnant women and deliver babies. They are qualified to do this because they have completed a medical degree and have also completed a special obstetrics and gynaecology training.

Obstetricians work in hospitals, childbirth centres, and private practices.

They can be involved in all stages of pregnancy from the initial consultation with the pregnant woman to delivery of the baby.

They can also provide advice about contraception, fertility treatments, and other reproductive health issues.

An obstetrician is a physician who specializes in obstetrics, the medical and surgical care of women before, during and after pregnancy.

The scope of an obstetrician’s job includes everything from prenatal care to postnatal care. An obstetrician performs deliveries, provides prenatal care, and coordinates with other physicians when complications arise.

In India, the eligibility for becoming an obstetrician is a degree in medicine which has been recognized by the Medical Council of India. The payscale for an Indian Obstetrician ranges from Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs per year.

5. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, including sonograms and pelvic exams

6. Recommends treatment plans for patients as needed
