Social Scientist
A social scientist is a person who uses scientific methods to study society and social behavior. The responsibilities of a social scientist vary with their position but are often related to teaching, research, or service. Social scientists teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in colleges and universities across the country. They may also teach at other types of schools such as community colleges or trade schools. Social scientists conduct research for publication in academic journals, books, or conference presentations. Some social scientists work on specific projects that have been commissioned by government agencies or private organizations.

To become a social scientist in India, you need to follow these steps:

1. Obtain a Bachelor's degree: You must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field like Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Psychology, Economics, or Geography. You can pursue a three-year Bachelor's degree after completing 10+2.

2. Obtain a Master's degree: You can pursue a Master's degree in Social Sciences or a related field after completing your Bachelor's degree. Some universities also offer integrated five-year Master's programs. A Master's degree is necessary for research or teaching positions.

3. Gain research experience: To become a social scientist, you need to develop research skills and experience. You can do this by volunteering with research organizations, participating in research projects, or pursuing a Ph.D.

4. Pursue a Ph.D.: A Ph.D. in Social Sciences or a related field is necessary for research or teaching positions in universities or research institutions. A Ph.D. typically takes three to five years to complete.

5. Publish research papers: As a social scientist, you need to publish research papers in reputed journals to establish your expertise and credibility.

6. Apply for research or teaching positions: After completing your education and gaining research experience, you can apply for research or teaching positions in universities, research institutions, or think tanks.
